Had an early start with a morning hike up to Key Summit. Weather was even worse than yesterday, if possible, and that meant no view from the top, but at least it wasn't a hard climb and I'm glad I did some excercise.The bus drove us to Invercargill and The Bluff in the afternoon. These are the southernmost points in New Zealand and - possibly - the southern emisphere (not counting the South Pole, obviously).
The weather turned instantly around as soon as we left the summit, which was annoying but at least we got to enjoy the Mirror Lakes and Monkey Island on the way.
La mia giornata è cominciata presto con una camminata a Key Summit. Il tempo ha fatto ancora più schifo che ieri, se possibile, e ciò ha implicato nessuna vista dalla meta, ma almeno ho fatto un po' di esercizio!
Il pullman oggi ci ha portati a Invercargill e The Bluff, due dei punti più a sud della Nuova Zelanda e - molto probabilmente - dell'emisfero australe (non contando il Polo Sud).Il tempo è cambiato appena abbiamo lasciato la cima di Key Summit, ah, l'ironia della natura! Almeno abbiamo potuto goderci i Laghi Riflettenti e Monkey Island con il sole!
