Oh, the joker I am!
I told you I would have updated yesterday's blog post this afternoon, but I fell asleep instead - still haven't fully recovered from Friday night. Hurray!
I must be some 50 years older than what's mentioned on my ID if it takes me a couple of days to get back on track.
Nothing much to tell about today.
Breaking News: waking up at 6:30am doesn't really help your case if you're trying to get back some hours of sleep. Unfortunately, that's what you gotta do if you need to shower, have breakfast, iron your uniform and keep your job by 8am.
Oh well, I'm not setting any allarm for tomorrow morning: I'm just going to wake up when I'm fed up with lying horizontally in my bed.
Ah! Good luck with that.
Mamma mia, che burlona che sono!
Vi ho detto che pomeriggio avrei aggiornato il blog di ieri e invece mi sono addormentata - non mi sono ancora completamente ripresa da venerdì sera. Evviva!
Dev'essere che sono vecchia dentro, un qualcosa come 50 anni in più di quelli che risultano all'anagrafe se mi ci vogliono un paio di giorni a rimettermi in pista.
Niente di speciale da raccontarvi oggi.
Notizia dell'ultim'ora: svegliarsi alle 6 e mezza di mattina non aiuta a recuperare il sonno perduto. Purtroppo però si deve fare questo e altro per farsi la doccia, mangiare la colazione, stirare la propria uniforme e non farsi licenziare, il tutto prima delle 8.
Oh bè, la sveglia non ci penso neanche a fissarla per domani mattina: semplicemente ho in programma di non muovermi dal letto fino a che non sono stufa di stare sdraiata. Ah!

Day #151
Sorry guys but I had very little sleep last night and tomorrow I start at 8am at the restaurant, so I'm putting off today's post to my break tomorrow afternoon.
Just so you know, weather has never been this lovely: glorious sun, cool breeze; I was wearing a mini skirt and tank top this afternoon and I didn't feel chilly at all. Now I see why people love Winter in Brisbane! Give me more days like these!!!!
Scusatemi tanto ma ieri notte ho dormito poco e domani comincio alle 8 di mattina al ristorante, quindi rimando alla pausa di domani pomeriggio il post di oggi.
Solo per anticiparvi qualcosina, il tempo oggi è stato meraviglioso: sole magnifico, venticello rinfrescante, per dirvi, avevo su una minigonna e una canottiera e non sentivo neanche fresco! Ora capisco perché alla gente piaccia passare l'inverno a Brisbane! Datemi tantissimi altri giorni cosììììì!!!!

Day #150
I'm posting now because tonight after work I' joining Jess and her Aussie Farmers friends downtown and I'm not likely to make it home before tomorrow morning. Those Aussie Farmers are wild ones!I had a really pleasant day: the weather has been glorious and I had a picnic with Claire in South Bank. Beautiful! Almost felt like a day off, if only I hadn't had to rush home to go to work!!!
Posto adesso perché questa sera dopo il lavoro vado diretta in centro da Jess e i suoi amici Aussie Farmers ed è più probabile che dorma sul divano di Jess piuttosto che torni a casa. Questi Aussie Farmers sono parecchio selvaggi e la notte potrebbe tirare per le lunghe!
Ho passato una splendida giornata: il tempo era meraviglioso e con Claire abbiamo fatto un picnic a South Bank. Bellissimo! Sembrava quasi di avere il giorno libero, ah, se solo non avessi dovuto correre a casa per andare al lavoro!!!

Day #149
Quick post because a) nothing much happened today b) sleeeeeeeepiness.
Seriously, I should work on getting enough sleep.
Anyway, this afternoon I worked at the restaurant. The people from the French conversation group from the library told me they missed me last week when I wasn't working. Aw :)
Then, one customer asked me whether I'd be working in the evening because he wanted to be back for dinner with his daughter. I told him, unfortunately I wouldn't, but both him and his guest left me ten dollars tip each. Sweet.
ps. Happy 4th to my readers in the US :D
Post rapidissimo perché a) c'è poco o nulla da dire b) stanchezzaaaaaaaa.
Seriamente, devo lavorare sul recuperare le ore di sonno.
Comunque, questo pomeriggio ho lavorato al ristorante. La gente del gruppo di conversazione in Francese dalla biblioteca mi hanno detto che gli sono mancata settimana scorsa quando ero libera e non gli ho servito i caffè. Aw :)
Poi, un cliente mi ha chiesto se fossi di turno anche quella sera, perché aveva il progetto di tornare per cena con la figlia. Gli ho risposto che, sfortunatamente, staccavo alle 3, ma sia lui che il suo collega, prima di andarsene mi hanno lasciato 10 dollari di mancia a testa. Fantastico.

Day #148
Sleepy. Just got back home after leaving this morning at 9:30. It has been a long day. Will tell you more soon.

Still feeling sleepy, but it's not too late and if I put this off once again, I might as well stop blogging!
Ok, so the day started off pretty early when I went to the flourist's on Racecourse Rd to buy a small plant for Sabrina's birthday. I placed it back in the unit and then I left straight away for the markets.
The weather was glorious and even though forecast said we had 24 °C, it felt a lot hotter. I stayed at the markets for a couple of hours helping Sabrina and Enzo out and later left without getting any pastry because I wanted to cut on the sweets for the week - last famous words.
Back in Hamilton, I went at Claire's to read some more from the book we started together, but as she spent the whole day in, she wanted to go out for a coffee and have a walk. We ended up at the Vanilla Pod in Ascot, the place where I had breakfast with Jess a couple of times. I had tea and we shared a slice of red velvet. On our way back, we stopped at my place to pick up some salad I had already in the fridge, we wanted to keep healthy - last famous word - and then at Coles, where, somehow, we bought pancakes preparation and apricot jam - so much for the healthy diet and all.
It was a good evening. We saw three animation pictures: The Lion King - Simba's Pride, Tangled and The Road to El Dorado. It was a good night but I was pregnant with pancakes in the end.
Stanchissima. Sono appena ritornata a casa dopo essere uscita alle 9 e mezza questa mattina: è stata una lunga giornata. Vi racconterò al più presto.
Le cose si sistemeranno. :)

Day #147
I thought the restaurant would stay empty tonight, but luckily we got quite a few tables during the evening. Jake, the new guy on trial, was there as well.
Best part of the evening, when packing up, the whole family, Davina, Tony and the twins helped out, so we actually closed the whole thing in far less time. Nice!
I apologize for being boring and all, but I don't really feel like writing these days.
Credevo il ristorante sarebbe rimasto vuoto questa sera, ma fortunatamente siamo riusciti a servire qualche tavolo nel corso della serata. C'era pure Jake, il nuovo ragazzo in prova.
La parte migliore della serata è stata quando, nel chiudere il ristorante, tutta la famigliola, Davina, Tony e i gemelli, si è messa ad aiutare e quindi abbiamo fatto tutto in pochissimo tempo. Fantastico!
Scusate se sono noiosa in questi giorni, ma non ho molta voglia di scrivere..

Day #146
Today the weather was dreadful: it was pouring down non-stop.
I did pretty much nothing all day. I Skyped with a friend in Italy, with one in the States and later this evening with my Grandma.
Weather was so off I didn't even feel like going out to do my shopping and Heaven knows I should have had. I had the last bit of salad I had in the fridge and some of the chicken I had frozen a couple of weeks ago for lunch, and had carrots for dinner. Must have drank a couple of litres of tea during the afternoon: I was trying to get warm, you see.
I finished Sherlock and holy cow! Was that a finale!!!! November and season 3 are sooo far away!!!
Oggi il tempo è stato penoso: ha diluviato tutto il giorno non-stop.
Non ho fatto molto in giornata, mi sono sentita su Skype con un'amica italiana, un amico americano e più tardi, in serata ho parlato con la mia nonna.
Il tempo era così pessimo che ha dissoluto ogni mia intenzione di uscire a fare la spesa, anche se il cielo sa, ne avrei avuto bisogno! A pranzo ho finito il sacchetto di insalata e ho cucinato un po' del pollo che avevo in freezer da due settimane, per cena invece mi sono fatta delle semplici carote al latte. Tra le altre cose, dev'essere che mi sono anche bevuta un paio di litri di tè nel pomeriggio cercando di tenermi calda.
Questa mattina ho anche visto l'ultima puntata di Sherlock e mamma mia!!! Che finale di stagione!! Novembre e la terza stagione sembrano ancora così lontani..
