Today I had a great day. I enjoyed the birthday present Karen and her family got me and went to Stafford Heights to get a facial and pedicure done at Zara's. Let me tell you, it was wonderful! Zara is such a lovely woman.
I suffered a little bit in the beginning, as I started off with waxing, but then together with the pedicure I got a foot massage and that was amazing. You never realize how much tension you acumulate on your ankles until someone gently walks you through Hell's pains trying to release it. Love my new bronze nail polish, by the way.
Getting the facial done after that was so relaxing. My skin still feels so soft!
Later I went at Karen's, even though Karen was not there - since she left yesterday - so I should probably say I went at Casey's. I made gnocchi for dinner and Alex, on that matter, remarked that it was kind of funny to have people over who cooked for him, but enjoyable nonetheless. Gnocchi are a safe meal for me to prepare; I just had to take care of the sauce, in the end. Next time I'll do even less than that as Alex said he's going to cook :D
Casey gave me an old camera of hers and Ash's that nobody was using anymore. That's awesome because Claire won't be back before a fortnight and next week at the markets there's the Italian Festival. It'll be a nice chance for me to show you Enzo, Annie and Amanda.
Speaking of Annie and Amanda, later we had pastries as well. Oh my, Annie's husband made this super tasty Black Forest petite cake that was just heavenly. So darn good!
Oggi è stata una giornata fantastica! Mi sono goduta il regalo di compleanno che Karen e tutta la sua famiglia mi hanno fatto e sono andata a Stafford Heights per una pedicure e un trattamento al viso al salone di Zara. Fatemelo dire, è stato meraviglioso! Così rilassante, e poi Zara è stata gentilissima.
Ho sofferto un po' all'inizio, dato che mi sono fatta fare anche la ceretta, ma poi nella pedicure era compreso anche un massaggio ai piedi che è stato eccezionale! Non ti rende conto di quanta tensione sia accumulata sulle caviglie, fino a che qualcuno non ti fa vedere le stelle cercando di rilasciare la suddetta tensione! Adoro il mio nuovo smalto color bronzo, a proposito.
Il trattamento al viso subito dopo è stato così rilassante!! La mia pelle è ancora liscissima!
Finito da Zara, sono andata a casa di Karen, anche se lei ovviamente non c'era, visto che è partita ieri. Dovrei dire casa di Casey, in questo caso, forse. Ho preparato gnocchi per cena e Alex, a riguardo, ha detto una cosa del tipo 'Fa strano avere gente a cena che cucina al posto tuo.' Non che non abbia apprezzato la cena! C'è da dire che, gli gnocchi erano un territorio abbastanza sicuro nel quale avventurarmi, dovevo occuparmi solo del sugo in pratica. La prossima volta, a quanto pare farò anche meno, dato che cucinerà Alex.
Casey è stata stra gentile: mi ha prestato una vecchia macchina fotografica sua e di Ash, che oramai non usa più nessuno. Il che è fantastico, perché Claire non tornerà prima di un paio di settimane con la mia macchina e settimana prossima al mercato c'è il Festival Italiano. L'occasione perfetta per farvi ''conoscere'' Enzo, Annie e Amanda.
E parlando di Annie e Amanda, dopo cena abbiamo mangiato anche i loro pasticcini e questa volta il marito di Annie si è, se possibile, superato! Ho mangiato questa Petite Black Forest che era la fine del mondo!!!
