Day #120

Last day in Melbourne. This morning I said goodbye to Jess and her family and I set with my trolley in hand to visit the Fitzroy suburb, Melbourne first suburb, where street art meets vintage meets bars and pubs. I went on a graffiti hunt and my goodness, there were so many writings and beautiful pictures!!! Here are some pictures. I'm sure I missed most of them, but you have to understand that most of the time they were sprayed on lonely alley walls, not the best place to be alone, if you know what I mean.

I followed Jess's and her brother Luke's advice and I walked on Brunswick St, Gertrude St and Smith St, that is to say, the main streets of the suburb. I stopped at a Fish and Chips on Brunswick to get lunch and then walked a little bit more through vintage shops, book shops 'where shhhhhh happens', coffee shops and other kinds of shop where they sold special herbs that promised happiness, no hangover and swore to be harmless.

From Fitzroy, I walked up to the Carlton Gardens, but I didn't have time to visit the Melbourne Museum as I was to catch the Free City Tram to Southern Cross Station and from there the Skybus that would have taken me to the airport.
Flight was on time and smooth. Tiger Airways terminal was still a shame, but the tickets were so cheap I should be ashamed to complain!
Paolo came and picked me up from Brisbane Airport as I landed.

I had a great time in Melbourne, mainly because of Jess, her amazing family and their warm welcome. The weather was far better than I would have ever hoped for but the Taylors made me promise to visit back in summertime, as 'Melbourne is even better then'. I wouldn't know what to expect more from this incredible city, but I'll be as happy as ever to oblige.

Ultimo giorno a Melbourne.

Ho passato quattro giorni fantastici a Melbourne.
