Day #129

I ended up checking almost all the items on my to-do list, even though you might have noticed I didn't have time to re-write yesterday entry.

Today it was a big cleaning day for me. I replaced the bed linen and moved my stuff so that Cake will have a clear idea of her spaces once she moves in this Sunday. Still have to find a place for my small collection of books - half borrowed from the library, half mine - that is currently on top of Cake's chest of drawers.
Before getting some work done in the house though, I went to Claire's and spent some time there. We did our shopping together and back at her place we shared a salad. Her unit looks really nice now! They even have a blackboard on which they leave messages to one another.

Now I'm heading to bed as tomorrow is going to be hell at the restaurant: Racecourse Rd will host the Winter's Lights Festival tomorrow afternoon, so we're bound to have the restaurant packed. Hopefully, Davina will back me up in my lunch shift - coffee comes out nice these days, it's just that sometimes my 'hot milk' is not hot enough for the customer and sometimes it's far too hot, just make up your freaking mind already!
Tomorrow night Davina will also be announcing the winner of our small cocktail competition. I know for sure the Brianza was a good seller, but was it the best? We'll know for sure tomorrow :D

Ho finito per fare quasi tutto quello che avevo segnato sulla mia lista delle cose-da-fare, anche se, come potete aver notato, non ho riscritto il post di ieri.
Oggi è stata una lunga giornata di pulizie nel mio appartamento. Ho rimpiazzato la biancheria del letto e spostato le mie cose così che Cake possa avere un'idea meno confusa dei suoi spazi quando si trasferisce questa domenica. Devo ancora trovare un posto dove mettere la piccola biblioteca che mi sono creata - metà dei libri sono miei per davvero! - e che al momento è posizionata sulla cassettiera che sarà di Cake.
Prima di mettermi al lavoro in casa però, sono andata da Claire e ho passato un po' di tempo da lei. Siamo andate a far la spesa insieme e poi una volta tornate a casa sua ci siamo fatte un'insalatona. L'appartamento è davvero carino ora e non manca più niente! Hanno anche una piccola lavagna dove possono lasciarsi messaggi a vicenda.
Ora vado a letto perché domani si prospetta l'inferno al ristorante: su Racecourse Road ci sarà il Festival delle Luci d'Inverno - e so che suona strano perché ora in Italia è estate, ma qui fa parecchio freddino - e quindi la trattoria sarà piena. Se tutto va bene, Davina mi aiuterà col bar durante il turno del pranzo - i caffè mi vengono meglio, è solo che a volte il mio 'latte caldo' non è abbastanza caldo per i clienti e altre è troppo caldo, allora, decidetevi!
Domani sera, tra le altre cose, Davina annuncerà il vincitore della piccola competizione dei cocktail che abbiamo avuto negli ultimi due mesi. So di per certo che il cocktail Brianza è stato uno dei preferiti, ma se sia stato il più venduto è un'altra storia! Oh bè, lo sapremo domani :D
