Day #58

Today I met with Jess, one of the girls who were interested in taking Claire's place as my roommate, who eventually set for another house that would have been available sooner.
The house she's living in is less than 20 minutes walk away and we decided to meet up nonetheless because it's always good to have somebody to hang around with and as I already proved you, connections are essential! We decided to go to this little bar in Ascot along the route of the 301 bus, that's how I first noticed the place, with the second prittiest little cakes ever - first prittiest-little-cakes-ever would be at the stand next to Enzo's at the Queen St Market on Wednesdays. We got scones with raspberry jam and whipped cream, man, I don't have to tell you they were delicious! I forgot how good raspberry tasted!

She sounds great and fun and that's just too bad that she found another accomodation because I'm sure we would have gotten along, but anyway, I asked her if she minded doing some of the touristy stuff with me on our days off - she just came to Brisbane and she's still looking for a job, so technically she's always off, at least for now.
All the people I know have been in Brisbane for ages and have already visited the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and been to the other exciting places in the neighbourhood whilst I stuck mainly to the City, so I have a lot to catch up to. She agreed, so I might be posting some more interesting entries in the future and maybe some of her pictures as well. She's kind of into photography, so I might benefit from her artistic influence as well as her actual camera to take actual pictures -  as you may recollect, mine broke down in London before I had a chance to take even a single picture of John and Hank Green.

Still looking for a roommate these days, but I heard from Yooni, Claire's Korean friend, who might be interested in sharing the room with me for three or four weeks. Let's see how that goes.

Tonight I worked at the restaurant and I met Amy, the new french girl, and even though I was awful at explaining her stuff - since I'm still kind of new there and all, she was still so nice to me, complimented on my French (!) and offered to invite me next time she hangs out with her french flatmates so that I can practice even more :D She seems really sweet and nice, but as with Kyle, I really had little chance to talk to her. What stick out to me about her was her long black dredlocks - like really long - and her killer make-up - like perfect eyeliner and fake lashes my sister would kill for.

Vediamo come va a finire.
